Executives at Enduring Ventures, the private equity firm that acquired hybrid publisher Scribe Media, have asserted that "Old Scribe" is responsible for the many unpaid debts associated with the brand, whereas "New Scribe" is a separate company that acquired only assets. However, that legal strategy seems to be disputable, as the amended class action lawsuit against Scribe Media now names Enduring Ventures—and a suite of associated companies—as successor defendants.
