I recently learned that the lifetime risk for Alzheimer’s at age 45 is 1 in 5 for women. It’s 1 in 10 for men. Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and nearly 11 million provide their unpaid care. The cost of caring for those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias is estimated to total $360 billion in 2024, increasing to nearly $1 trillion(in today’s dollars) by mid-century. Big numbers, but the Alzheimer’s Association is dedicated to changing this trajectory. With treatments options now available to those diagnosed early, blood tests around the corner to assist early diagnosis, and the potential for a vaccine currently in research right here at University of Wisconsin, there is HOPE!

Please consider donating to my Walk team and be part of the solution for this terrible disease. Your dollars support research, risk reduction education, and 24/7 free assistance finding quality care and support. I thank you for your consideration
