We take fresh water for granted here in Chicago.

Fascinating.

What a delight to share the stage with my little one at Chicago Fair Trade Global Fest on Saturday, with Elizabeth Cline, Jerome McDonnell, and Pushpika Freitas.

We had the opportunity to share with a lovely crowd how buying fair trade transforms the lives of women and children, for good. Here’s a brief summary:

-The folks who make your clothes are multi-dimensional - work environments that respect this reality invites women to enjoy a fuller, more whole version of themselves -I’ve personally see women in India gain weight when they no longer have to make hard choices about whether to eat dinner, or send their children to school

That’s the power of purchasing ethically with your dollars.
