Associate Producer - Short Wave at NPR

Thomas Lu is currently an Associate Producer for NPR's daily science podcast Short Wave, having previously held roles at NPR's Hidden Brain, It's Been A Minute With Sam Sanders, How I Built This, All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, Pop Culture Happy Hour, and the TED Radio Hour.

Before his time at NPR, Thomas was a production intern at StoryCorps in Brooklyn, New York. He is a graduate of Middlebury College with Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology from Middlebury College, the University of Oxford, and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from UWC-USA.

Thomas is passionate about exploring how personal experiences and social behaviors influence human interactions with the world, and he aims to integrate these narratives into creative radio storytelling.

His professional experience spans across various roles, including Associate Producer, Assistant Producer, Production Assistant, News Assistant, and Intern at NPR, as well as roles such as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto and various positions at Middlebury College and Camp Twin Lakes-Camp Dream.

As part of his education, Thomas Lu engaged in an Independent Study Project at Middlebury College and was a member of the Search Committee for Associate Dean of Students. His diverse experience and educational background have equipped him with a unique perspective on storytelling and human behavior.
