Todd Hunter is the Chief of Police for the City of Kilgore, Texas. He was appointed to this position in February 2011.3 Chief Hunter has an extensive background in law enforcement, beginning his career with the Athens Police Department in February 1993.4 He later worked for the Kilgore Police Department from 1993 to 1996 before joining the Texas DPS Highway Patrol.2

As the Chief of Police, Hunter leads a department consisting of 37 sworn officers, 14 full-time civilian employees, and up to 8 part-time staff members. The Kilgore Police Department serves a population of just over 15,000 and covers a patrol area of approximately 19 square miles.1
