Tom Buscaglia, also known as The Game Attorney, is a principal in the law firm The Game Attorney PC, which has offices in the Seattle, Washington area.123 He received his law degree with honors from Georgetown University in 1985 and holds a B.A. in Philosophy with honors from S.U.N.Y., Buffalo.123

Buscaglia has been assisting independent game developers in business and legal matters since 1991.12 He has written articles and speaks at industry events such as the Game Developers Conference, LOGIN, Casual Connect, PAX, and Valve’s Steam Dev Days.13 He wrote "Effective Developer Agreements," a chapter in the book, The Secrets of the Game Business.123

Tom served on the Board of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) from 2005 through 2016, including as Chair and Treasurer. He founded the IGDA charitable Foundation and the IGDA Business and Legal Special Interest Group.1 He is also the founder and Supreme Warlord of FaTe’s Minions, an online gaming clan since January 1998.1

Buscaglia has contributed to over 20 games in various capacities, including legal counsel, general counsel, and special thanks.1
