Happy 29th birthday #sizewellb! 🎉 At the time SZB’s electricity was called “cripplingly expensive”, the PWR “obsolete”, and “undermined by coal”, so those plans for replicas at SZC, HPC and Wylfa were scrapped. They couldn’t have got it more wrong. Nearly 30 years later we are getting it right at Sizewell C, with a lot of help from #hinkleypointc. Replication is - and always has been- the right way to do nuclear. Building all big infrastructure is hard and, yes, it’s expensive. But it lasts for generations, employs thousands and somehow when we finish it we look back and wonder how we ever managed without it.
