Professional Background

Tom Meitner has over 15 years of experience as a freelance copywriter.1 He founded Solo Copy Empire in May 2022 and has been running it for about 2 years and 5 months.3 Through this program, he has helped more than 200 copywriters get their first clients and build their businesses to $2,000 per month and beyond.35

Business Philosophy

Tom believes strongly in the concept of a "one-man business".1 His approach focuses on:

  • Working for oneself, by oneself
  • Keeping clients happy
  • Maintaining a steady flow of work
  • Avoiding outsourcing and managing subcontracted writers

Services and Programs

Tom offers several resources for aspiring and established copywriters:

  1. The 7-Day "Fast Start" Guide (Free): A program to help copywriters lay the groundwork for their careers in just one week.1

  2. Solo Copy Foundations (Paid): A program that has helped over 150 copywriters achieve monthly earnings of $5,000 to $10,000.1

  3. Solo Copy Empire: His main program, which focuses on helping writers get clients through direct outreach and build sustainable businesses.46

Teaching Approach

Tom's teaching style emphasizes:

  1. Practical advice for building a client base and increasing income.1
  2. Direct client outreach strategies rather than solely focusing on building online authority.2
  3. Understanding the "why" behind successful tactics rather than blindly copying them.2
  4. Personalized attention and support for his program members.16

Tom Meitner claims to have built a $250,000+/year copywriting business without outsourcing, and he aims to teach others how to achieve similar success through his programs and daily tips.15

You know what successful people have in common?

Positivity.

My home has six chimneys that are crumbling badly.

Chimney inspectors agree that these chimney stacks need to be rebuilt.

They’ve told us everything from, “It’ll cost you $20,000-$40,000” to “I don’t even know if we rebuild chimneys that big.”

Because we’ve been debt-free so long, we don’t qualify for any financing deals.

My buddy Richard was hanging out one day and I vented to him about the dire conditions of the chimneys thanks to the lack of maintenance from the previous homeowners.

He listened to my venting, and then calmly and matter-of-factly asked, “Are the chimneys going to collapse through the house?”

Me: “No.”

Him: “Can you still have a fire in your living room?”

Me: “Yeah.”

Him: “So what’s the big deal?”

I had no reply.

He was right.

Yes, it’s an issue that needs attention. But realistically, things are fine right now. We’re not in danger, and we still can use the fireplace in the living room like we want.

Whenever I need to get that perspective, Richard is the guy I go to.

He’ll never trash anybody or complain endlessly about a situation beyond his control.

He’s Glass Half-Full and proud of it. Makes him a great friend to have.

When you are a freelancer, you NEED to adopt a Glass Half-Full mentality.

Every choice is a risk. You risk losing money or losing time.

Often, we focus too much on the former and not enough on the latter.

The people who say to me, “I’ll try this out on my own for a while” though clearly not knowing what they are doing? They think they have all the time in the world.

Never mind that you can’t get any of it back after you lose it.

And those who say, “I can’t afford to invest in my career”?

They’re really just saying that they’re scared.

If you spend $1,000 or whatever on something that can help you build and stabilize your business, you make that money back over time.

It’s just uncomfortable in the meantime.

“What if I spend $1,000 and I don’t make 100x in return?”

First, what’s the worst that could happen? If you’re already paying your bills, you’re fine. You’re just out some money that you can make back.

Second, when you go into it with that attitude, you’ll never make it back.

Nobody is going to come repossess your car because you took $1,000 out of your savings or put $1,000 on your credit card.

I’m a living testament to that. I’ve spent more money on my career than probably any of you over the last 16 years.

Some paid off. Some didn’t.

I’m still here, and I have a dream house to show for it (even if the chimneys are crumbling).

I can tell you this: whenever I made that investment back, it’s because I brought a Glass Half-Full mentality to it.

I KNEW it would pay off.

And I refused to accept otherwise.

I talk a lot about ruthless efficiency in my business.

But ruthless positivity will get you even farther.

Do you have it?
