Tom O'Brien is a prominent figure in the life science industry, known for co-founding Axion BioSystems in 2008, where he serves as Chairman. The company specializes in bioelectronic assays that merge microelectronics and biology for diverse applications such as disease modeling, drug impact assessment, and evaluating cell potency. Axion's innovative products enable scientists to measure invisible phenomena beyond imaging.

Tom O'Brien's educational background includes earning a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering with Highest Honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Additionally, he attended St. Joseph High School.

Apart from his role at Axion BioSystems, Tom O'Brien has held various leadership positions in notable organizations. He was previously President and CEO of Axion BioSystems, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Intermagnetics Corporation, President of the Colors Group at Sensient Technologies, Vice President at Sun Chemical, and Consultant in Corporate Marketing at GE. He also participated in the MMP Program at General Electric.
