⚡️New Work⚡️

If this year in sports has taught us anything, it's that women's college basketball has always been outstanding and deserved the same coverage as men's.

Over the past few months, I've been lucky enough to lead strategy on this work with an amazing creative team and some of the best clients. And as we enter March Madness, I'm proud to share this story of Paige and her journey with the world.

I'm looking forward to sharing more work in this space as Gatorade continues to be a brand rooted in sports, innovation, and inclusion alongside this killer LS squad.

Katt Williams had several great one-liners in his interview with Shannon Sharpe, but the one that stands out to me is so relatable to the advertising industry: "As a comedian, the audience's opinion is the only opinion that matters...so I don't think any comedian has ever been booed unnecessarily either...Most comedians don't get booed enough."

As an industry, we do a lot of navel-gazing when it comes to the work we produce in favor of awards, more money, and creative fulfillment, which often does not include listening to our audience. If we did, we would have to reckon with the truth: making a beautiful 2-minute spot for the sake of the opportunity is not better than creating something that actually resonated, like a series of memes that drive relevance and conversion.

In reality, most consumers either don't care about our work or try to ignore it completely. Instead of buying your way through KPIs, listen more to the organic conversations around your ad. They don't lie. Because more often than not, if you listen to what they are saying, they are screaming "boo."
