Highlights
Installing these two tripod jackets for Petrogas E&P turned out to be another day at the office for Heerema Marine Contractors' Thialf and her crew, but it was great anyway joining this offshore installation campaign in the North Sea. Although these two platforms (jackets and topsides) were not a challenge for the cranes' lifting capacity, the timeline, busy deck and tight installation tolerances were posing enough challenges to keep it exiting. Very impressive to see Jan Pluimgraaff and his crew do what they are good at!
It was a pleasure to provide support to the project during the sail-out and pile installation of these (still) massive structures, good to experience the different scale of almost everything compared to everyday life onshore.
While Thialf continues with her next project, I'll continue working on the challenges to be faced for the renewables with the various offshore wind farm constructability studies, development of new foundation and silent piling concepts, and the exciting developments in the field of floating wind energy ongoing at Heerema Engineering Solutions.

New year, new challenges!
I am pleased to share that I will be joining the team of Heerema Engineering Solutions in January, helping with the (geotechnical-related) challenges the company is facing in the offshore renewable industry. I'm very excited to get started!
The downside is that I am leaving the colleagues and projects at Royal HaskoningDHV behind. From Waardenburg to Woltersum and from Mexico City to the Manila Bay, it has been a great pleasure working on a wide range of projects and with many different colleagues. It's a small world, so I am sure we'll meet again.
