Highlights
Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of joining the “Attract Women from Management to Boardroom” conference as a panelist at the Embassy of Belgium in Tokyo.
It was an honor to join stage with CMO of Panasonic Connect Ms. Yamaguchi, Chairperson of ANA Akindo Ms. Sugaya, and Dean of Hitotsubashi University Business School Ms. Osono.
The panel was moderated by Sandrine Monette, and together with the great panelists I enjoyed sharing my personal journey on driving DE&I at Maersk. Driving diversity and creating an inclusive workplace is an important agenda at Maersk and one that I have been very passionate about.
Promoting diversity sounds logical but requires strong commitment from leaders. I have learned a lot during the last 10 years, and I feel there is still a lot to do. But that is exactly what makes this journey exciting since the goal post keeps moving and there is never a limit to what we can achieve!
Last but not least thanks to Megumi Lin (Rin), Eriko Kaba, and Kyra Mercer CSCP from the Maersk Northeast Asia DEI Committee. I am extremely proud of having strong advocates of DEI like you in our organization, and look forward to representing Maersk at the next event.

This week we hosted our 1st Customs Client Forum in Tokyo. Thanks to Lars Karlsson and the GTCC team members, based on the feedback from our customers it was an incredibly engaging and well organized event.
Although it was named as a “Customs Forum”, the main theme was combatting trade complexity and increasing supply chain resilience. Our role as Maersk is not just to facilitate trade but to offer innovative and comprehensive solutions that enable customers to always be ahead of the game. It’s not just logistics services we offer.
Enabling trade requires us to be compliant to various regulations whether that relates to humanitarian rights, Supply Chain ESG, or border controls. As the regulatory landscape constantly changes, its important we work with our customers and authorities to co-create solutions that work for everyone that is part of trade. Thank you to all customers that joined us yesterday and the representation from IMF, JETRO, and the U.S. Embassy.
We look forward to hosting our next session in Northeast Asia. Lars Karlsson - next destination Seoul!
