Previously, she held key positions at the Natural Resource Governance Institute, driving initiatives to advance resource governance goals in Nigeria and managing media programs across Anglophone Africa.

Toyin's contributions at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism have been significant in enhancing Nigeria's investigative journalism landscape, including spearheading initiatives like the Report Women project.

Passionate about social justice, she has co-authored a chapter on corruption in oil licensing for African Muckraking and has several other notable written works to her credit.

Toyin's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in English, both from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, along with various certificates in journalism, project management, communication for development, and e-facilitation.
