Here is a photo of graffiti on the fence of my kids Jewish school on the weekend. Note is does not say Free Gaza, or Palestine, it says “JEWS DIE”… This is anti semitism / racism at its worst since Hitler’s Natzi regime. On the fence of a children’s school…..
Someone recently asked me what is it like for the Jewish community post October 7 and with the sentiment turning to hate and antisemitism towards Jewish people.
Last week my young kids were forced to do a security drill at school, much like a fire drill, but in this case they are practicing in case the school is attacked by people much like those who graffiti’ed this fence who want to attack Jews. In this drill the teacher locks the class room door, some kids close the curtains, and then they all hide under their desk until they are given the all clear to go back to normal. And our schools also have a full armed security detail watching over them. This is in AUSTRALIA, our once accepting and safe country to live.
Try explaining to a 9 year old child why they must do this drill for their own safety but at the same time telling them we live in a safe country.... Or why they have to hide their school uniform in public, or why they can't get off the school bus without a parent waiting for them.
We need to stop the hate… All of us together…. NOW!! Including our political system who must take a stance before it is too late. Let’s not wait until this drill become an actual incident.
