Tucker Holstun is a dedicated and motivated Junior studying Chemical Engineering at Oregon State University with a strong interest in material science, particularly specializing in next-generation battery materials. Having garnered substantial hands-on experience over 3 years in Dr. Zhenxing Feng's research group at OSU, focusing on cathode particle coatings for lithium-ion batteries, he has significantly contributed to enhancing their energy density. This notable research effort earned Tucker the prestigious Barry Goldwater Scholarship. Furthermore, he has showcased his expertise as a SULI intern at Argonne National Laboratory, where he developed a model illustrating the impact of battery recycling on alleviating supply pressures for critical metals. Additionally, he has gained valuable insights during an internship at OnTo Technologies LLC, working on diverse projects related to material recovery from lithium-ion batteries. As the leading reaction coordinator for the OSU Chem-E-Car team, Tucker has actively participated in competitive events like the AIChE national competition, showcasing his leadership and technical skills. Beyond his academic pursuits, Tucker enjoys running, reading, and hiking in his leisure time.
