I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Solutions Engineering Lead at Arcee.ai!

After turning 30, I took a small break to explore the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Here are some of the things that I built / learned during my break:

○ Built a home security system using YOLOv8 that allows IP cameras to call drones to a specific location for intruder deterrence: https://lnkd.in/gQUKfXM9

○ Explored synthetic music video generation through building an Audio to Text model then feeding that text into Deforum: https://lnkd.in/gGr6rzv4

○ Trained an autonomous license plate reading system for detecting stolen and dumped vehicles by connecting it to an opensource database: https://lnkd.in/gn98B4wH

○ Built an insanely powerful context and emotion engine using CLIP and the latest open source Mistrel model: https://lnkd.in/gJiSjMPJ

After exploring the AI landscape, I'm happy to go back to my original roots as an NLP engineer.

I got my start in AI by building hundreds of chatbots in Dialogflow and Chatfuel.

I'm super happy to see that the advancements in NLP make it so we don't have to build out EVERY question / answer pair or conversational route.

It is even better to see companies like Arcee who are combining the power of RAG retrievers with fine tuned SLM.

Giving your model access to not only refined conversational context, but context of anything that you might store in a database system.

Building Domain Adaptive Language Models (DAML) truly is the future of language models and I'm excited to see what we all build together!

Thanks for the opportunity Mark McQuade, Jacob Solawetz, Brian Benedict!
