Traffic insights:
- Traffic is and always has been greatly overestimated in AHREFs
- That said, AHREF’s has generally got the direction of growth correct (up, down or sideways)
- Traffic was sideways with a bit of downward direction from Mid-Sep through October. We felt a bit of a hit from Google’s core updates around that time, but we held up pretty decently compared to many other competing sites. Nevertheless, it was a tough time and we weren’t feeling very optimistic.
The big win:
- Our goal has been to get to 100k page views, ideally by the end of this year
- That goal has seemed far off and wasn’t likely to happen… until now
- Enter November and traffic starts pushing to all-time highs. We finally broke 1000 users/day when things really took off
- Since Nov. 4th our traffic has been pumping and we went from an average of 600-900 visits/day, to 1400/day, then 2500/day, and in the last 4 days, ~4000/day
- We have now hit a new ATH of 50K users in the last 30 days, and 69K Page Views
- We’re only 31K page views away from hitting our target and qualifying to apply to Raptive. Feeling good about hitting that target in the next 2 weeks.
Where’d the Traffic come from?
- Half of the traffic growth in this recent pump was from organic, with many of our pages moving up the rankings
- The other half is Google Discover, from which we’ve recently seen significant traction and traffic. We seem to be maintaining the traffic and even seeing growth, but I don’t expect it to last forever.
Wish us luck! See you again when I provide the next update :)
A big frustration for SaaS marketers is learning how to service the market, not just market a service.
To do this, you need to be out there in the community, educating people about your product and showing them how it will solve their problems.
That takes time and effort — but it's worth the investment 💵🚀🚀🚀
