Ulrich Assankpon

Principal Advisor Resilience at UNICEF

Ulrich Assankpon is a resilience and livelihood programme expert with over 12 years of experience in food and nutrition security, agriculture, and rural development programs.

He holds Master's degrees in Agro-Economics from AgroSup Dijon and in Rural Development with a focus on Microcredit Systems from the Federal University of Santa Catarina.

Ulrich Assankpon joined UNICEF in January 2020 as the Principal Advisor for Resilience. In this role, he provides strategic and technical guidance for a multisectoral program dedicated to enhancing resilience through integrated Health, Nutrition, WASH, Education, Child Protection, Social Behavior Change, governance, and social inclusion.

Prior to his current position, he served as the Regional Resilience Advisor for Sahel/West Africa at FAO, Head of Sub office and Resilience Program Coordinator at FAO, Value-chain, and Disaster Risk Reduction Program Manager at FAO, Food Security, and Livelihoods Program Coordinator at Action Against Hunger - ACF-USA, and Food Security and Livelihood Project Manager at SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL.
