Valery Yakubovich
Valery Yakubovich is an Associate Professor of Management at ESSEC Business School with campuses in France and Singapore, and a Senior Fellow at the Wharton Center for Human Resources.13 He conducts research and teaches courses in the areas of Talent Management, Innovation, and Organizational Behavior.1 His research explores new forms of employment relationships in the context of digital transformation, algorithmic data-driven management, innovative non-hierarchical forms of organizing business activities, and the role of language in the transfer of innovative management practices.13
Yakubovich previously worked as a faculty member at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the Wharton School.1 He also served as the founding executive director of Penn’s Computational Social Science Lab, where he oversaw the development of IT, data, and institutional infrastructure for large-scale open collaborative social sciences.2 Additionally, Yakubovich is the Executive Director of the Mack Institute for Innovation Management at the University of Pennsylvania.245 In this role, he focuses on creating synergies among research, teaching, and the practice of innovation management, promoting dialogue between practitioners and academics, and connecting with corporate and regional partners’ innovation ecosystems.5
Yakubovich's research has been published in leading journals, including Organization Science, Harvard Business Review, and American Sociological Review, as well as numerous edited volumes.13
