Anita Van Breda is an experienced environmental advisor and trainer with a focus on integrating environmental concerns into disaster management and climate change adaptation.

She has a strong background in working in collaboration with reputable organizations such as the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement, United Nations, World Bank, The Sphere Project, NGOs, and the private sector.

Anita specializes in humanitarian operational partnerships, designing, developing, and implementing environmentally responsible disaster management programs, policies, training, and capacity building.

Her expertise also extends to climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction policy and practice, marine and coastal natural resource management, livelihoods, as well as non-profit institutional development, management, and training.

She has extensive geographic work experience in countries like Bahamas, Belize, Chile, China, Haiti, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Republic of Congo, Sri Lanka, Thailand, USA, Vanuatu, and Virgin Islands.

Anita Van Breda holds a Master of Environmental Studies in Marine and Coastal Resource Management from Yale University's School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from George Mason University.

Currently, Anita serves as the Senior Director at WWF and has previously worked as a Senior Program Officer at WWF and a Consultant at Transparency International.
