Vanessa A. Bolognese, MBV, BSN, RN, is a highly experienced Registered Nurse currently serving as a Nursing Supervisor (NOD) at the VA San Diego Healthcare System with a wealth of experience in overseeing hospital patient and staff flow, providing leadership, and guidance across various units and disciplines.

In early 2018, Vanessa demonstrated exceptional skills in program development by creating and implementing the first-ever charting tool for female veterans in emergency situations at the VA GLA. She previously held the position of Secretary at the Emergency Department Shared Governance from 2017 to 2018.

As a U.S. Army Veteran, Vanessa served for over four years on active duty, including 27 months in combat during two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. With a background as a Sergeant and combat medic, she played a crucial role in coordinating emergency medical treatment and evacuation plans, training teams for combat lifesaving skills, and conducting medical outreach in foreign communities.

Vanessa Bolognese completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at West Coast University in Orange County and furthered her education by obtaining her Master of Business for Veterans from the University of Southern California in 2019. Her Master's program was tailored to high-achieving veteran leaders, providing specialized business education.

In addition to her professional roles, Vanessa dedicates her free time to volunteering with the American Red Cross in Disaster Services and Leadership Development, reflecting her commitment to community service and making a positive impact globally.
