Highlights
Yesterday we had the pleasure of hearing from Peter Greer in 2 sessions through CMA - Advancing Ministry. One for CEOs and Chairs and one open for all interested in Leading with Prayer. What came across loud and clear was the need for a focus on the Kingdom purpose, the long game, and how well both CEOs and Chairs can ‘pass the baton’.
Having the next generation of leaders prepared for governance is mission critical. Otherwise, who is ready to take the baton and run?
That’s why The Board Internship exists, and why we are always looking for more host boards who are ready to take this on, and more young leaders ready to step up. This year’s cohort is just starting off, but do reach out if you would like to know more for next year.

This is one of the most difficult, and at the same time one of the most freeing posts I have ever written.
After 23 years of running my own business, Entente, first as a Compliance and Risk Consultancy, and then for the past 17 years with a focus on building and restoring trust, I have decided it is time to wind up my business.
In the process of sorting through years of documents and mission statements, testimonials and piles of thank you cards, I am so very grateful for all the people who have joined the journey in some form, as clients, customers, partners, employees, funders, advisors, volunteers, and in taking compliance, accountability, integrity and trust to heart and implementing it into your own lives and businesses. It was because of you that I kept going as long as I did. And if you are using ENPs and the trustworthy person model in your work, keep using it. If it is helping you and others, that is wonderful.
One of the interesting things I came to realise was that I never actually wanted to be a business owner. I set up my business as a result of a breakdown of trust I experienced in the corporate world, deciding at that time that I was better off on my own. But whilst there is evidence that supports the impact of the framework and methodologies for trust building I developed and was teaching, finding the right business model to sustain and grow Entente was an ongoing challenge. Over the years I have met and coached many beautiful, smart and passionate people with great ideas, wonderful products and services, who also struggle with the burden of trying to get the business model to stack up. If that is you, I feel your pain.
For me, I have finally decided I simply want to be me. Not 'the trust lady'. Just Vanessa. No more hype. No more websites and a list of URLs. No more plans for social media posts at certain times of the day to maximise readership. No more pressure to produce the next book, podcast, blog, webinar, online training course, App, speech, showreel...
I simply like to help people and solve problems, and leave people feeling they were glad they met me.
So, I am still here, and happy to help you, while I enjoy a more balanced life and spending time with my beautiful husband, John.
And let's face it, not many people knew how to pronounce Entente anyway! :)
