Vanessa Lam is a highly educated professional who holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in International Relations with First Class Honours from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She further pursued her education by completing GCE A Levels at National Junior College and obtaining a Graduate Bachelor of Laws (GLB) with First Class Honours from the National University of Singapore.

Vanessa has gained substantial experience and expertise through her various roles in prestigious organizations. She currently serves as a State Counsel at the Attorney-General's Chambers in Singapore. Her previous positions include being a Consultant at the NUS Centre for International Law, a Legal Extern at the Attorney-General's Chambers, a Legal Intern at Rajah & Tann Asia, and a Research Assistant at the NUS Centre for International Law. Moreover, Vanessa has contributed her skills as a Foreign Service Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore, where she held roles such as First Secretary / Desk Officer for ASEAN, Second Secretary / Country Officer for Indonesia, and Attachment Officer.

In addition to her legal and diplomatic experiences, Vanessa has also engaged in social and educational endeavors. She has worked as a Human Rights Intern at MARUAH, a Pro Bono Projects Intern at A4ID - Advocates for International Development, and as an English and Humanities Teacher at Swiss Cottage Secondary School.

Vanessa Lam's diverse background in law, international relations, education, and diplomacy showcases her versatility and commitment to making valuable contributions in various professional fields.
