I’ve always wanted to be a CMO at a large company, but I’ve realized working at big companies has made me feel like I’ve had handcuffs on innovation, creativity, and my strategic abilities. Speed and work quality is often compromised by too many players on the field.
And to be frank, I dislike the politics. I enjoy small teams because it’s easier to create and collaborate. I enjoy transparent, real conversations about progressing the business without the blank stare of agreement just because someone is superior. I dislike only showing parts of the data because the real story would be alarming or someone would lose their job. Innovation, progress, and real business change are not created by agreeing with the majority.
Cyrannus was born after years of talking about gaps in corporations and venture. We wanted to create a platform that gave overlooked founders an opportunity. We wanted to give founders easier access to investors and capital. We wanted to give power back to founders. We wanted to create a community to openly discuss venture, business, hype, and technology. We wanted to enable domain experts to properly evaluate startups and help push hype to the side. And we wanted to fund great people and great companies.
Today, I’m shifting my full-time efforts to Cyrannus. I’ve spent the last 6 months helping to build our product part-time with a brilliant team looking to change the venture ecosystem. It’s given me life. And, I’m excited to work for a company with a mission of connection, creativity, and collaboration.
