A year ago, I started voicing an idea that I felt in my heart but had no idea how to pursue. I still haven’t figured it all out, but earlier this week I soft launched Tsay Tea, a Taiwanese-American tea company, to share my family’s Taiwanese oolong tea with consumers here in the US.
It might be a surprise given that I've only worked at large companies, I've never worked in food & beverage, and I still need my parents’ help to translate Taiwanese to English. But this has been the journey of a lifetime - from living with my parents for a month in Taiwan (oh boy!), to getting scolded by my Aunt for picking tea leaves incorrectly, to brainstorming packaging ideas with cousins and close friends. I still have so much to learn and so much to build. But I have to give a huge shout out to my support system - the family and friends who have encouraged me to dream big and even spent their dollars to try our tea.
