This could exacerbate when AI becomes all pervasive in the digital domain. The big risk could be that it might become very easy to plant misinformation at a very large level, in a very short time at a very low cost and that becomes the basis for false meta databases to further propagate lies, fiction, motivated prejudices and what not. It would be something diabolical and evil, not just hallucinations.
