Something I learnt as we went through a COVID crisis , handling a senior member in our family. Hoping this helps others who may be trying to play it by the day.
Managing COVID
- On the first symptoms of fever, itchy throat get yourself tested
- Begin with your GP for prescription but for patients with co-morbidities associate with a doctor from a COVID hospital .
- Ideally if the doctor is associated with a hospital, they will take calls for hospitalisation and have a better reach and connect versus a general practitioner.
- Start early medications , get your chest CT scan to determine lung infection.
- Monitor your oxygen levels, if they start falling below 95 after a six minute walk, arrange for home oxygen support, in consultation with your doctor.
- If there are co-morbidities, start looking for a hospital bed with oxygen support. 7.Hospitals provide with injectable steroids and medicines like Remdesivir which cannot be administered in a home setup
- Doctors will recommend ICU beds with ventilator support, if situations worsens.
