Reading the entire report, it is clear a variety of factors caused Texas' affordable housing crisis, but also abundantly clear that we must come up with bold solutions for this problem in order to make the situation better. The Texas Miracle can't continue if there isn't affordable housing to house the workforce.
Last session, my boss, Senator Royce West, introduced SB 2528, which would have created the Workforce Housing Capital Reinvestment Fund. He will be introducing this legislation again in the 89th Regular Session, along with other affordable housing measures.
