Highlights
This partnership is a special one - we spoke to HDFC securities way back in 2019 just as we were starting to build the Vested Finance product. Unfortunately we were too early and lost out then.
Now all of 5 years later, things have come a full circle. Very excited to partner with HDFC Securities to help their customers diversify their portfolios globally!
With Vested powering HDFC Securities' Global Investing 2.0 offering, we will look to provide a superior investing experience to both new and existing customers 🚀 🚀.
At Vested we continue to believe that Indian investors can create a robust portfolio by diversifying their portfolio globally. Across the world, as a country becomes developed, individuals have looked to build wealth with local assets at the core and global diversification to support it. Excited for this story to play out in India as well as we work towards becoming a developed country by 2047.

Two key items in the budget for folks investing overseas from India:
-
You will now be able to reduce your salary TDS by the TCS paid when remitting money beyond 7L in a year via the LRS. This solves a big liquidity issue that a lot of salaried individuals were facing when remitting funds for investing abroad. More procedural details are awaited
-
LTCG on foreign equity/debt is changed from 20% with indexation to 12.5% without indexation. Also the long-term threshold for both stocks and ETFs is now 24 months (it was 36 months for ETFs earlier)
