Just got my latest article published online on Annals of Biomedical Engineering.

My article on redefining a well known hemodynamic indicator for heart failure, ejection fraction, in the presence of a continuous flow VAD for usefulness in monitoring the patients condition and probably even use in indication of recovery is available for reading. In this article, we introduce Trans-Aortic Valvular Ejection Fraction (TAVEF) that looks at the ejection only through the aortic valve and removes the influence of the VAD. It’s published in Applications in Engineering Science Volume 11, 2022 and incorporates my PhD work with my current research at Cornell as a Postdoc at the Antaki Lab. I would like to thank my co-authors, Dr. Keshava Rajagopal of Texas A&M and Prof. James Antaki for their valuable contributions. #firstofmany
