Professor Vivianne Tjan-Heijnen, born in 1964, is a distinguished medical oncologist with a focus on breast cancer.

She has been leading the department of Medical Oncology at Maastricht University Medical Center since September 2006.

Vivianne Tjan-Heijnen has been instrumental in various cancer-related initiatives and organizations in the Netherlands, showcasing her commitment to improving cancer care.

She served as the past president of the National Breast Cancer Organization of the Netherlands (NABON) from 2008 to 2012, advocating for breast cancer patients' needs and rights.

Professor Tjan-Heijnen's contributions to the field of oncology are evident through her extensive publication record, having (co-)authored nearly 300 full papers in esteemed international scientific journals.

Additionally, she has supervised approximately 50 PhD students, nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals and researchers.
