Vivien Bonazzi is a prominent biomedical data scientist with a strong focus on leveraging data science methods in understanding biology.

Vivien has pioneered the development of a Data Commons - a cloud-based platform promoting the utilization of FAIR principles in biomedical data to enhance its discoverability, accessibility, interoperability, and reproducibility.

Having initiated this work at NIH, Vivien continues to drive this initiative as the Chief Biomedical Data Scientist and Managing Director at Deloitte, emphasizing open-source collaboration and interoperability over proprietary silos.

Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, and Biomedical Data Science, an M.Sc. in Molecular Pharmacology with First Class Honours, and a B.Sc. in Clinical Biochemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Microbiology.

Vivien's professional experience spans roles such as Senior Advisor for Data Science at NIH, Program Director at National Institute for Genome Research, Senior Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton, and leadership positions at organizations like Invitrogen, Celera Genomics, and The Institute for Genomic Research.
