Walter Kisthardt is a Professor Emeritus at Park University, previously serving as a Professor and Director of the MSW Program.14 He holds a B.A. in Sociology and Social Work from Elizabethtown College, an MSW from the University of Hawaii, and a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Kansas.35

Dr. Kisthardt is known for his expertise in Strengths-Based, Person-Centered practice in social work. He is one of the original conceptual framers of the Strengths Perspective in Social Work Practice and has provided training and technical assistance in 43 states and four countries.23

At Park University, he taught the Advanced Standing Bridging Class and the Integrative Seminar.1 He also served as the Director of the Center for Research and Training in Integrated Behavioral Health at Park.3
