Chief Enterprise Officer at MTN

Wanda Matandela is an experienced telecommunications executive who has been appointed as the new CEO of MTN Cameroon, effective March 1, 2025.14 He is currently serving as the Chief Commercial Operations Officer at MTN South Africa.12

Matandela joined MTN in 2018 as Chief Enterprise Business Officer, where he successfully led the turnaround of the enterprise business division.13 With over 20 years of professional experience, including more than 13 years in the telecommunications industry, he has held various strategic roles across the FMCG and financial services sectors.15

Prior to joining MTN, Matandela served as the CEO of Ster-Kinekor Theatres from 2015 to 2018.3 He also worked at Vodacom, where he held leadership positions such as Managing Director for Small and Medium Business and Regional Managing Director responsible for KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, and Gauteng regions.3

Matandela holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Walter Sisulu University, a Master's in Information Systems (Cloud) from the University of Witwatersrand, and an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch Graduate School of Business.3

In his new role as CEO of MTN Cameroon, Matandela will be tasked with improving service quality and overseeing significant investments to enhance the company's infrastructure.4 His strong commercial expertise and stakeholder management skills are expected to be valuable assets in building upon the momentum created by his predecessor, Mitwa Ng'ambi.14
