Wanda Watson, Ed.D. is an Associate Professor at San Jose State University.12 She previously served as the Director and Assistant Professor of Elementary Education at Mills College from August 2015 to June 2021.2 Dr. Watson holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University.4 Her academic background also includes a BA in Human Biology, a teaching credential, and an MA from Stanford University.4

Dr. Watson's research focuses on critical race theory and its application in education. She has examined how Black women educators disrupt oppressive norms in urban schooling through critical race womanist pedagogy.35 Her work extends to exploring contemporary Black women educators' praxis of politicized care.6
