This year's Women's History Month theme focuses on diversity, equity and inclusion, so it's a good time to shine a light on an issue (one of many) that isn't advancing fast enough. According to the World Economic Forum's most recent Global Gender Gap report, women make up 36% of the global technology workforce and only 28% of tech leadership. That's up less than 1 percentage point from 2016.
Why is the world making so little progress? What can we do to fix it? And, knowing that attrition is an issue, what can we do to keep women in tech? The first two questions are macro issues we should all be thinking about. The last is something any organization can look into. Is it opportunity, support, flexibility? If so, those are all things a company can provide.

All the hype around AI has many leaders excited, but according to EY, employees have mixed feelings. While 82% think AI will make them more efficient, 71% have concerns, including that their jobs may become obsolete and compensation will be negatively impacted.
I see this as an opportunity. Technology should empower people, not undermine them. For leaders, this means providing the tools and training needed to help people make the most of the tech you’re implementing. This is essential. Throughout my career, I’ve seen employees thrive when they are able to use tech to do their jobs better. They are happier, more productive and contribute to better business outcomes.
