Highlights
https://lnkd.in/epKpWm5 #economy This article has some valuable insights, but I think the author missed a couple of Ds: Disaffection and Demographics. I get the impression that most of the U.S. 1% regards the middle class as inferior, and they are seemingly unaware that the systematic movement of wealth from the middle class to the 1% is bleeding consumers dry. They don't care what happens to us, so they aren't paying attention to the consequences. This Disaffection is toxic. People are spending money from their retirement accounts and savings, and running up their debts in order to cling to a middle class standard of living that is no longer assured. This can't continue much longer. My second D is Demographics. An enormous number of baby boomers are retiring every day. Seniors that rely solely on Social Security during retirement are not going to restaurants or theaters, and they will not be traveling or buying cars because they won't be able to afford the expense. Seniors with more income will still be downsizing. This is the same demographic wave that hit Japan in the in the 80's and 90's, and their economy has languished ever since. Anyone that thinks our economy is returning to "normal" needs to reassess their thinking. We are in the midst of profound economic change.
Exciting developments in anti-aging research. I came across the first article and then read the second and decided to post them because they are two different approaches that both hold great promise. https://lnkd.in/eUGAbk4 https://lnkd.in/e7zRngd
