Curation: The ads platform for open internet?

As I introduce curation with partners and clients, I reflect on how should I introduce this concept in a much simple way for those are new to the concept. And I struck the similarities with so called "ads platform". Think TikTok or Facebook Ads: buyers leverage a vast inventory but don't require a DSP or SSP. There is just one platform that simply customize audience selection.

This concept translates well to the open internet using curation as the concept. Curation acts as a bridge, offering buyers a single interface to access the open internet with targeted audience selection. Currently there are still much of data matching and scaling challenges when it comes to finding the right audiences but in an ideal world, this will eliminate the need for complex DSP/SSP setups and make programmatic much easier.

So the next question, will there be just one or multiple curation pipes for open internet? Or we will see more specialized inventory focus curation such as DOOH?
