Highlights
Really disappointed to hear that DEFRA’s local authority air quality grants have been withheld this year, having already awarded them to Councils earlier in January 😞😞 £92 million has been awarded for air quality projects to help understand and combat pollution across the UK since 1997, with over £6 million having been allocated for this year alone...
From air quality monitoring outside of schools, to retro-fitting old buses, these projects have increased air quality awareness and lowered pollution levels, improving and extending the lives of hundreds of thousands of people around the UK since 1997.
Airly strongly believes that the work that local authorities have done over the years is key to helping fight pollution 💪
As a result, we are putting 2 calls out for local authorities impacted by pollution in the UK.
- If you had an air quality monitoring grant that was successful, that you now cannot fund, please reach out to us and we will see how we can support your project. We have 20 sensors measuring PM2.5, PM10 (MCERTS certified), and NO2 we would like to give away to a Council to use for the next 12 months until (hopefully!) DEFRA decide to once again start awarding the grants.
- In addition to that, we are offering every single authority in the UK with one of our certified sensors for 12 months to use on any project that they like, so they can collect as much real-time, hyper-local data as possible to help them mitigate and fight pollution over the next year.
Please share this far and wide so we can support as many councils as possible! 🚀🚀 #CleanAirCouncils
