Tomorrow, tomorrow, you shouldn't love it.
Years ago, my parents took me to NYC. More specifically, they took me to Chinatown. I was probably 7 or 8.
While in Chinatown, they bought me a Sonny WokMan (seriously).
I loved that thing.
I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
A few weeks later, it stopped working.
I imagine that happened quite regularly to Sonny WokMans.
I was distraught.
Seeing how upset I was, my grandfather told me he could fix it.
I most certainly was doubtful.
This was a sophisticated piece of electronics.
My grandfather grabbed the WokMan, looked at it, opened the battery case, inspected it, smiled, got up, and got himself a soda and a cup of ice.
He opened the soda, poured some of it into a cup, handed me the cup, and then drank the rest.
When he was done, he grabbed a pair of scissors, cut a small piece of the can, placed that piece in the battery case where one of the contacts used to be, popped some batteries and hit play.
Viola. I was back listening to "Beastreet Breakdown."
He pulled the headphones off my ears and said, "The solution is always there if you just take a moment to look for it."
I am sure this relates to sales in a ton of ways, but you can draw your own lessons. I just wanted to share an incredible story about a very cool man.
