Willem Vervaeke is an accomplished professional with a strong educational background in Development Studies and Geography.

He holds a Master's degree in Anthropology of Development and Social Transformation from the University of Sussex, and dual Bachelor's degrees in Development Studies and Geography from SOAS University of London and King's College London.

With a diverse range of experiences, Willem has held notable positions in various organizations, showcasing his expertise and skill set.

He currently serves as the Représentant Pays Mali at Croix-Rouge de Belgique, contributing to humanitarian efforts in the region.

Previously, he excelled as the Responsable Projets at GERES and the Responsable RD Congo at Caritas International Belgium, demonstrating his leadership and project management capabilities.

Willem also has a background in coordinating asylum centers, having served as the Coordinator of asylum centers at Caritas International Belgium.

His experience extends to the international level, where he served as a Junior Policy Officer at ECDPM - European Center for Development Policy Management, showcasing his strategic thinking and policy acumen.

Prior to this, he held roles such as Program Coordinator at the Institute for Nature and Society of Oaxaca (INSO) and Communications Assistant at PICUM, highlighting his diverse skill set and adaptability.

Moreover, Willem has experience in the corporate sector, having served as an Assistant to the Core Team Leader and Assistant Monitor at PwC, where he honed his organizational and administrative skills.
