In all the holiday excitement of August, I neglected to post the rather lovely news that our organic and Fairtrade Fiery Ginger with Jalapenõ picked up two Great Taste Gold Stars ⭐ ⭐ at the 2024 Great Taste Awards. Its a pretty awesome sparkling ginger drink made from organic Peruvian ginger juice, a light and tongue tingling touch of Jalapeño and its sweetened with Fairtrade agave and Fairtrade apple juice. Top soft drink, great booze replacement and mixer with alc or non alc - par excellance!

We have just picked up a Gold Award for Best Soft Drink and Best Mixer in the Great British Food Awards for our Organic and Fairtrade Real Cola. It’s been a really engaging journey as a challenger soft drink and cola brand creating unique and complex flavours with the finest organic ingredients. Awards help us realise we are on track with our mission and help raise our profile with customers and buyers. Creating a challenger Cola has been no easy task with 70% of all soft drink sales in the UK cola flavours and those sales broadly dominated by two very large and deep pocketed players. We've doubled down on premium, buying the finest organic essential oils and spices, sourcing a lovely Madagascan Fairtrade Bourbon vanilla and sweetening with organic agave from a Fairtrade project in Jalisco Mexico. The result are 3 colas that stand confidently against the opposition offering phosphoric acid and artificial sweetener free alternatives to big brand cola that is depressingly powered by synthetic caffeine. We use African cola nut in our colas that provides gentle stimulation from theobromine - literally translated as 'food of the Gods'..... Agave also offers a lower glycemic index to refined sugar so calms those insulin spikes.
So at Gusto we head around the mountain in a slightly different direction to big brand colas and where we are heading, thankfully, is also the direction lots of our customers are travelling in. Better drinks, mindful of health and ingredients, better for farmers, suppliers and our customers and made with love. 🖤
