William James

William James is a distinguished Higher Education leader known for his expertise in institutional strategic planning, resource allocation, and fostering innovations in effectiveness and efficiency. His research programs span across virology, immunology, induced pluripotent stem cells, and neurodegeneration.

William James has a strong educational background, having pursued A levels in sciences at Whitefriars, Cheltenham. He furthered his academic journey with a DPhil in Microbiology from the prestigious University of Oxford, followed by a BSc in Genetics from the University of Birmingham. Additionally, he obtained a PGDipLTHE in Higher Education from the University of Oxford.

Throughout his career, William James has held significant positions in various organizations. He served as the Professor of Virology and the Jeffrey Cheah Professor, Official Fellow, and Tutor in Medical Sciences at Brasenose College, Oxford. Additionally, he has valuable experience as the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Resources), Associate Head of Division of Medical Sciences, and Head of the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology at the University of Oxford. William James also contributed as a Tutor in Medical Sciences at Brasenose College and Magdalen College, University of Oxford. His expertise was further honed during his tenure as the Monsanto Senior Research Fellow at Exeter College, University of Oxford, and as a Lecturer at the University of Oxford.
