Highlights
Mainstream Media needs more accountability for releasing false stories. They get an opportunity for a good headline and rather than doing proper diligence on it, they release it first, get the clicks, and pull it later when the damage is already done. Needs to be much harsher penalties. Pulling the story and saying sorry after the fact isn't good enough.
Calling on Governor Gretchen Whitmer to designate outdoor work like construction and landscaping as "essential businesses"...
Given that all work is done outside and employees can drive themselves to and from job sites, transmission risk is as low as any of the other industries listed. As long as standard hygienic precautions are maintained and a limit set on amount of workers allowed per job site, there's no reason these industries should be shut down. Construction/landscape workers already practice social distancing, wear protective equipment, etc.
Furthermore, by keeping these businesses open, you're providing job opportunities and short-term economic relief to these who need income to skate through this. If people can still go outside to ride their bikes, surely we should still be able to work outside...
FYI- I put out an experimental job ad and the result has been incredible. People are dying to get to work. Many laid-off and just need basic temporary income. We have jobs ready for them if you'll allow us to stay open. Also- we thank you for keeping "building material and garden equipment and supplies dealers" open, yet they will need their customers in order for it to be worth it for them to remain open.
