It's been a journey, but I'm super stoked to finally be able to show off what we've been working on in 2023.

I believe MORI is the future of genealogy software, and we're just getting started.

I'm finally ready to pull the veil off what we've been working on for the last 12 months: https://mori.xyz

With MORI, we're striving to build the next generation of genealogy software. But why genealogy?

Last spring, through a set of incredibly fortunate circumstances, I was able to join the 3rd cohort of South Park Commons Founder Fellowship. The fellowship allowed me to explore a question that had been thorned into my brain: how do we capture and persist family stories?

These stories are our history - often the truest history we have. But as a society we silently forget them.

This is pretty easy to prove to people by asking "what do you know about your great-great-grandmother?"

But it turns out that collecting these tales is an incredibly deep and hard product problem - the storytelling process is very sensitive to the friction added by technology. However, there are people out there fighting the good fight and putting these stories to paper. Professionally they might be called genealogists or family historians; those inside families tend to think of them as just "Aunt Alice" or "Uncle Bob".

So our first step in this journey is to build the best damn software we can for Alice and Bob and their families. One step, and about a million more to go!
