This article about the Cloud Appreciation Society (CAS) and climate change, for me, is emblematic of what makes working in technology worthwhile. It is a beautiful article, both the important content and the lovely presentation.

My wife and I have been members of CAS for a while, and when its founder Gavin Pretor-Pinney gave a talk in Portland, we attended. During the talk, Gavin mentioned that they had an iOS app, but they were trying to figure out how to build an Android one.

Since I was working on Flutter (which makes it far easier to build both iOS and Android apps), I started a conversation with him, which led to me convincing him to rewrite their app in Flutter. Now, the latest version of this app even has a new AI feature to help identify clouds!

I like to think that in some small way, this has all made the world a better place. #flutter #mobileapps

I just published a video about the Flutter transform widget. It is fun to watch, even if you aren't a computer nerd. And it is only about a minute long.
