Words can't describe how happy I am to share some great news this morning: Infinimmune, the antibody biotechnology company that myself, Katherine Pfeiffer, david jaffe, Lance Hepler, and Michael Gibbons started this summer, is coming out swinging with a $12M seed financing. We're hiring and building right now, and we hope you'll join us on our journey into basic B cell biology, known unknowns of the antibody repertoire, and platform technology development and applications for antibody therapeutics.
Our mission is simple: transforming truly human antibodies into exceptional drugs. Though the history of antibody drugs is long and storied, one consistent thread are the ongoing and sisyphean efforts to reinvent the human immune system in other model organisms and technologies. We believe that it's now time to turn inwards, to the already safe and effective antibodies residing in 8 billion humans the world over. The deep ocean of the truly human antibody repertoire has not been explored! We look forward to sharing our findings along the way as we approach this B cell bathymetry exercise from first principles.
We're incredibly grateful to have earned the support of Playground Global (jory bell, Benjamin Kim), Pear VC (Eddie Eltoukhy, Pejman Nozad, Mar Hershenson), Civilization Ventures (Themasap Khan, PhD, Shahram Seyedin-Noor), Axial VC (Joshua Elkington), and angel investors including Ron Alfa, MD, PhD, Jacob Becraft, Paul Conley, Joshua Meier, and others. We have a long road to walk, and are glad to be backed by investors who help us daily, share our vision, and who believe that excellent and rigorous science and technology development are essential components of great biotech companies.
There has never been a better time to join a startup given the broader climate of the biotech sector. If you, a friend of yours, or a current or former colleague have wondered what it would be like to build a company with a genuinely new perspective on antibody drug discovery differently, we would love to hear from you. We're filling our own pipeline and are taking on partnerships and collaborations with teams and companies who share our vision of delivering the next generation of drugs to humanity, from humanity.
