Xavier Desjardins

Xavier Desjardins is a professional with a focus on urban planning and territorial development, engaging in research, teaching, and consulting.

He teaches in the Geography Department at Sorbonne University, particularly within the Urban Planning master's program, and leads the Urban Planning master's program at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. Xavier also contributes to various other educational programs on occasion.

His research within the Médiations laboratory revolves around the evolution of local institutions in urban planning, housing, and transportation, the connection between mobility and territorial dynamics, and the methodologies shaping territorial projects.

In addition to academia, he undertakes consultancy and research-action missions in territorial strategy both in France and abroad through the cooperative consultancy firm Acadie, where he serves as co-manager.

Xavier Desjardins has pursued extensive education, including a Habilitation à diriger des recherches, a Doctorate in Urban Planning, a Magistère d'aménagement, Urbanisme, and a Bachelor's degree in History and Geography.
