"Who run the world? Girls!"
As Beyoncé says, "this goes out to all the women getting it in, on their grind." To make this world a healthier and more equitable place, aligning our money with our values is key. Women receive less than 2% of VC funding, so we women and our allies have to become the check-writers. That's why I'm proud to announce that I've become a Limited Partner in Emmeline Ventures, an early-stage venture fund run by 3 badass women: Naseem Sayani (she/her), La Keisha Landrum Pierre, and Azin Radsan van Alebeek!
Emmeline is investing in women-founded pre-seed and seed stage investments in ClimateTech, HealthTech, and FinTech. Check out the amazing investment thesis and portfolio they have assembled already. So my call to action is 3-fold:
- reach out to Naseem if you want to learn more about joining us as an LP investor in this mission
- If you're a female-identifying founder and want to pitch us for venture investment, reach out to me or Naseem. I'm especially interested in Climate/Food/AgTech given my background.
- Check out the amazing documentary Show Her The Money, which highlights beautiful stories of women entrepreneurs and investors.
