Additionally, he has certifications in International Law Seminar from the International Law Commission in Geneva, Public International Law from The Hague Academy of International Law, and Forced Migration from the University of Oxford - Refugee Studies Centre.

Yehenew completed his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with Distinction at Addis Ababa University and furthered his studies with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law and Legal Studies from Dalhousie University - Schulich School of Law.

His professional journey includes leadership roles such as Senior Legal Counsel at the World Bank Group, Legal Officer at the World Health Organization, Rule of Law Project Manager at UNDP, and Human Rights Officer with the United Nations Peacekeeping mission.
